		To mobilise the community to combat drug abuse together, District Offices and District Fight Crime Committees have organised various programmes on preventing and tackling drug abuse.

	With the assistance of Hutchison Telecom (HK) Ltd, anti-drug SMS messages were sent to 50,000 mobile phone users aged between 18 and 25 before Christmas.

In 1989, the United Nations General Assembly declared 26 June each year to be the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Member jurisdictions agree to hold large scale anti-drug campaign around the day to disseminate anti-drug message to show their determination to combat drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
