Anti-drug publicity activities aim to raise public awareness on the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of staying away from drug. A multi-faceted approach is adopted to disseminate anti-drug messages:

    - To mobilise the community to combat drug abuse together, District Offices and District Fight Crime Committees have organised various programmes on preventing and tackling drug abuse.

    With the assistance of Hutchison Telecom (HK) Ltd, anti-drug SMS messages were sent to mobile phone users aged between 18 and 25 during Christmas and New Year holiday.

    International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

    In 1989, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 26 each year to be the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Member jurisdictions agree to hold large scale anti-drug campaign around the day to disseminate anti-drug message to show their determination to combat drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
