Prevention and Intervention for Cannabis-Abuse Youth: Screening Test and Integrated Cognitive-Behavioral Intervention

This project aims at training social workers and counsellors to use an integrated cognitive-behavioural approach (ICBT) to deliver prevention and intervention services for cannabis abusers, general youths, parents and teachers. Project elements include training and supervision for social workers and counsellors, psychoeducation workshop and individual counselling delivered by trained social workers and counsellors, and translation and validation of cannabis abuse screening tool.

This project aims at developing drug rehabilitees’ personal competence so that they could connect with and contribute to the society so as to avoid relapse during the process of reintegration. This project aims at providing aftercare services to support the rehabilitated drug abusers for sustained abstinence in the community. This project aims at building up participant’s awareness on the harms of cannabis through a multidimensional prevention education programme. Project elements include cannabis focused preventive education, such as anti-drug Virtual Reality (VR) activities, real escape games for tertiary students, medical worker and social worker outreaching services to high risk youths, capacity building workshops for teachers and social workers, cannabis focused anti-drug workshops for parents of drug abusers and general parents, anti-drug ambassadors scheme for tertiary students and rehabilitated drug abusers, leisure activities to engage high risk youths, young cannabis abusers and rehabilitees, cannabis focused parent support workshops for parents of drug abuser, “Re-Life-Cation” medical consultation and career counselling for drug abusers, family activities for drug abusers and their family members, VR-based relapse prevention activities, vocational training and job placement.

“Buddies' Hub” - Peer-in-a-Team Support Service on Hidden Drug Users

This project aims at identifying hidden drug abusers and enhancing their motivation to quit drugs through the various treatment and rehabilitation activities. Project elements include physical and online outreaching to identify drug abusers, professional counselling for drug abusers, mutual support group, recreational activities and volunteer training and services by drug abusers, drug rehabilitees and rehabilitated drug abusers, formation of a volunteer team for community sharing, establishment of a team which consists of drug abuser volunteers, rehabilitees and peer supporters, production of ten short videos on the story of rehabilitees for dissemination on social media.
