Application of rTMS to Reduce Craving for Substance-use Disorder Patients

This project aims at providing repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) services to reduce craving for drugs and frequency of drug abuse among drug abusers. Project elements include providing rTMS services for recruited substance abusers, weekly mental and detox services via face to face or telehealth consultations for recruited substance abusers and sharing sessions for healthcare professionals and frontline workers.

This project aims at strengthening anti-drug attitude of young arrestees/ rehabilitated youths and their peers by offering support and providing preventive education. Project elements include anti-drug talks for tertiary students, young adults outside school network and non-Chinese speaking persons, anti-drug workshops and case counselling for young arrestees, rehabilitated youths and their peers, and therapeutic sessions for drug rehabilitees, rehabilitated youths and their peers.
Pathways to Recovery: Empowering Change and Growth Through Family and Peer Support with Motivational Interviewing

This project aims at conducting research studies to assess the efficacy of Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Collective Motivational Interviewing (CMI) counselling methods and providing MI and CMI trainings for social workers and peer counsellors. Project elements include professional training programme on MI and CMI for social workers and peer counsellors, CMI interventions to illicit drug users and their family members and MI interventions to rehabilitated drug abusers.

This project aims at improving mental health and strengthening self-efficacy to refuse drugs among drug dependent persons through expressive art therapeutic activities, counselling and other supportive activities. Project elements include project experience sharing for frontline anti-drug workers and other staff, sports and art training, individual counselling, expressive art therapeutic groups and volunteer services for drug dependent persons, sharing sessions/seminars/workshops, individual and family counselling and family mutual support groups for family members of drug dependent persons, and electronic publication for sharing project deliverables for anti-drug organisations.

Project elements include sharing sessions by athletes/art workers, group counselling services and art and sports courses for drug rehabilitees, sharing sessions/workshops and volunteer programme by drug rehabilitees and their family members, introduction and promotion of rehabilitation programme to general public through sports or art exchange activities and exhibition of artwork in community.

This project aims at providing intensive short-term residential treatment programme to drug abusers and counselling support to their family members. Project elements include posting of online anti-drug messages on social media, offline anti-drug activities, initial assessment and follow-up counselling for drug abusers, counselling for family members of drug abusers, volunteer service by rehabilitated drug abusers and short-term residential drug treatment services.

This project aims at providing a comprehensive counselling services, vocational training and aftercare services to drug rehabilitees who received treatment and rehabilitation services in a residential drug treatment and rehabilitation centre. Project elements include sharing sessions by rehabilitated drug abusers to secondary and tertiary students, mentor sharing sessions, interest classes, personal growth training group sessions, pre-vocation and pre-education preparation courses and referral services for further study or employment, career counselling services and community volunteer services for rehabilitated drug abusers, counselling services and mutual support group workshops for family members of drug abusers and production of anti-drug short movies for general public.
A Comprehensive Career Counselling and Development Project for PSA Rehabilitees AND Assist Ethnic Minority Rehabilitees in Integrating into the Local Workforce for Shek Kwu Chau Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre

This project aims at providing career support to residents of Shek Kwu Chau Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre to enhance their employability and facilitate their reintegration into the community, and providing guided tours to youths and ethnic minority community leaders/stakeholders to enhance their drug knowledge and acceptance of the reintegration of rehabilitees into society. Project elements include career talks, workshops or visits, career counselling groups, individual employment guidance and job matching, community services, cultural events, integrated sports and music events and two-day internship for local and ethnic minority rehabilitees, aftercare counselling and job matching for local and ethnic minority rehabilitees after discharge, Cantonese classes and short term vocational training course for ethnic minority rehabilitees, and guided tours/visits to Shek Kwu Chau Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for ethnic minority or local secondary students and ethnic minority leaders/ethnic minority organisations.

This project aims at extending and intensifying the community-based drug treatment and rehabilitation service for ethnically diverse (ED) groups. Project elements include professional training for anti-drug frontline staff, outreaching services for at-risk ED, ED at work or at school, mass program to reach out to ED community members, counselling with motivational interviewing, case plan with treatment and rehabilitation, drop-in-service at office to engage the active drug abusers or rehabilitees, ongoing support in treatment, rehabilitation strengthening programme, career and life planning program for ED drug abusers or rehabilitees, family reconciliation program for family members of ED drug abusers or rehabilitees and vocational skills training courses and job trial scheme.
