“Fresh Express” an integrated community project on anti youth drug abuse at Wong Tai Sin

This project involves co-operation between medical professionals, social workers at district-based level. Body check and counselling service for psychotropic substance youth abusers will be provided. Necessary referrals to specialist treatment will be made. Educational workshops targeted for teachers, parents, youths, private medical practitioners and social workers, training course & camp for ambassadors (students and parents), comic contest, etc. will also be held.

This project promotes multi-disciplinary anti-drug collaboration in Kowloon City District. Local medical practitioners, social workers, psychiatrists, teachers, university students join hands to form a network to help psychotropic substance abusers in the district. Project activities include preventive education in schools and community, early identification of at-risk young students, adventure training activities, etc.
Psychiatric Comorbidity and Cognitive Dysfunction in Primarily Ketamine Users – a Closer Look

The research objectives of this project are (a) to ascertain the prevalence and correlates of psychiatric comorbidity (psychotic disorders, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders) in primarily ketamine users, in comparison to ketamine poly-drug users and healthy youth; and (b) to evaluate cognitive function in primarily ketamine users, in comparison to the ketamine poly-drug group and healthy youth.

To recruit and train students as leaders to help spread the anti-drug message to their peers and launch exhibitions in the school. Group training, visits to rehabilitation centres, adventure training, promotion of sporting activities, Q&A contests, short video production contest, and parent-child cooking sessions will also be arranged.
