This project aims at providing rehabilitation services for drug abusers of South Asian origin. Project elements include job skills and vocational training courses (e.g. language training, home maintenance, painting and carpentry and cooking courses), outward bound trainings and musical instrument trainings for South Asian drug abusers in the drug treatment and rehabilitation centre operated by the grantee.

This project aims at enhancing drug rehabilitees’ employment readiness, their motivation to quit drugs and their abilities to avoid relapse through a series of support service and vocational trainings. Project elements include individual counselling and life rebuilding groups for drug rehabilitees, psychological support sessions for rehabilitated drug abusers or co-workers who are reformed drug abusers, counselling and outings for family members of drug rehabilitees, vocational training courses, including home repair course, lifesaving course, swimming course, First Aid course, stand up paddling course and hair styling course, workplace training for rehabilitated drug abusers or co-workers who are reformed drug abusers, aftercare groups and aftercare group outings for rehabilitated drug abusers and their family members, war game activities and outward bound adventure for drug rehabilitees.
National Symposium on Drug Abuse Prevention and Control 2025

The project aims at organising a symposium with guided visits for government officials, scholars, medical staff, researchers and anti-drug representatives from the Mainland, Macau and Hong Kong. Project elements include organising a 2-day symposium with twelve reporting sessions for representatives from the Mainland, Macau and Hong Kong and guided visits to local drug treatment services.

This project aims at motivating drug abusers to quit drugs and strengthen drug rehabilitees to avoid relapse through outreaching services, peer support services, growth-perspective counselling, therapeutic groups and other programmes. Project elements include 6-session capacity building training for frontline anti-drug personnel, rehabilitee’s sharing cum graduation ceremony for anti-drug workers and related professionals, mentors, drug rehabilitees and general public, peer counsellor certificate course, training courses on sports outreaching for drug rehabilitees, online support, follow-up service and home visits for drug abusers and their family members, individual counselling and family counselling for hidden drug abusers, drug rehabilitees and their family members, mindfulness-based self-caring therapeutic groups for family members of drug abusers/rehabilitees, relapse preventive mindfulness groups for drug rehabilitees, acceptance and commitment therapeutic parallel groups for drug rehabilitees and their family members, Chinese medicine consultation session and family member mutual support therapeutic groups for hidden drug abusers and their family members, peer support and therapeutic groups and peer counsellor outreaching and community service groups for drug rehabilitees, and family relations enhancement activities for hidden drug abusers, drug rehabilitees and their family members.
Team to Dream – Support Services for Cocaine Abusers or Ex-Cocaine Abusers and their Family Members

This project aims at dealing with the increasing number of cocaine abusers in Hong Kong by identifying them and their family members, improving their self-regulation ability, strengthening their family support, enhancing their self-efficacy, and also enhancing anti-drug professionals’ knowledge and skills in drug treatment. Project elements include activity-based programs for cocaine abusers/ ex-cocaine abusers and their family members, experience sharing conference on working with cocaine abusers/ex-cocaine abusers and their family members, intensive training and group consultation on effective intervention model of working with cocaine abusers/ex-cocaine abusers and their family members for anti-drug workers, online outreaching and brief counselling for hidden and unmotivated cocaine or ex-cocaine abusers and their family members, casework counselling and therapeutic group counselling for cocaine abusers or ex-cocaine abusers and their family members, medical consultation for cocaine abusers or ex-cocaine abusers, peer learning team for ex-cocaine abusers and voluntary work by ex-cocaine abusers.

This project aims at providing vocational training courses to drug rehabilitees to enhance their self-efficacy and competitiveness for employment, as well as promoting community acceptance of drug rehabilitees and facilitating rehabilitee’s reintegration into society. Project elements include vocational training on construction safety, electrical wiring, renovation and painting, plumbing and air-conditioning services for drug abusers/rehabilitees, enrolment to the ‘Green Card’ safety trainings and examinations for drug abusers/rehabilitees and home repair and maintenance services for disadvantaged groups.

This project aims at strengthening the employment readiness of drug rehabilitees through vocational training and preventing them from relapse through mentorship programme. This project aims at (i) examining the psychosocial profiles and their drug use patterns before, during and after pregnancy; (ii) Investigating the relationships between neuropsychological functioning and parenting efficacy in mothers with drug abuse during pregnancy; and (iii) identifying specific neural targets for reducing parenting stress and improving parenting efficacy.
Impact of Employment Experiences to Drug Abuse and Drug Rehabilitation Engagement among Younger and Middle-aged Working Drug Abusers

This project aims at (i) exploring how younger and middle-aged Working Drug Abusers (WDAs) interpret their employment experiences across different job settings; (ii) exploring the impact of the above interpretations and experiences on affecting drug use and drug rehabilitation engagement of WDAs; (iii) exploring the potential beneficial/harmful effects of specific types of employment on specific types of WDAs; (iv) matching different WDAs with the employment types that fit them the most; and (v) identifying and investigating interventions that WDA found useful.
